File processing options, including comments, may be stored in settings documents.
A settings file is always loaded. The name of the currently loaded settings file is placed in the title bar of the Process Select and Current Settings windows.
When A/S first opens, it automatically loads the settings designated as the Default settings. These settings are placed in the Preferences folder within the System Folder. Choose the Save as Default menu item to save the current settings as the Default set. Only one set may be specified as the default set.
Settings can be loaded by opening them in the Finder or by choosing the Load Settings… menu item. Settings documents are always opened first when TEXT documents and settings documents are dragged and dropped onto the A/S icon.
Favorite settings files can be installed into a hierarchical Load Settings menu within A/S, so that choosing a menu item will open the corresponding settings document. Simply place the favorite settings files (or aliases to them) in a folder and designate that folder to be the Settings folder using the Folder Preferences window.
When a change is made to the current settings a plus sign (+) is added to the name in the window title. Choose the Save Settings menu item to save the changes into the originally opened settings file. Choose the Save Settings As… menu item to save the changes into a new settings file.
Hold down the option key when choosing the File menu to see the Revert Settings menu item which will undo all changes made to the current settings. The Load Default Settings menu item will also be shown to quickly reload the Default settings.
Choose the Print Settings… menu item to print most of the current settings.
